Starehe is a charitable institution that provides care and education for boys in need. It runs a Centre, Secondary School and a tertiary Institute offering Accountancy and Computer studies. This year, 2024, will be Starehe Boys Centre’s Sapphire Jubilee - 65 years anniversary since it was founded in 1959. To mark this important milestone the school community plans to have a series of events starting this quarter, culminating in a big celebration on Founders Day in July 2024. These activities will revolve around: a) Celebrating and appreciating Starehe’s friends who have stood with us through the years. b) Celebrating the Starehe Way with the students and public. c) Securing Starehe for another 65 years and beyond. In line with this, the Starehe fraternity is looking for a catchy, professional yet simple logo design for the Starehe@65 Celebrations that will be able to depict Starehe’s values.

Skills & Requirements

SUBMISSION 1. All design material should be sent in .pdf format. 2. The deadline for submissions is Midnight, Friday, 3rd May 2024. Late entries will NOT be accepted. 3. The top 3 finalists will be announced on Thursday 9th May, 2024 and contacted directly by a Starehe representative. 4. The winning logo will be announced and unveiled on Friday 10th May, 2024, during the 4PM Assembly. All submissions should be sent to stareheat65@oldstarehians.org with the following details: 1) Your Name as per National ID/Passport 2) Contact details (Email and Phone Number) TERMS 1. The competition is open to individuals only (Any team effort should be submitted through one individual’s name). 2. The competition is open to the public. 3. All design material submitted will be kept confidential. 4. Please don’t share your designs in a public forum until they have been commissioned. 5. There will be one winner receiving cash while the runners up will be appreciated with a certificate. 6. We will only allow one design submission per entrant. 7. The submitted works must be the original design of the submitter and must be free of any copyright or 8. other intellectual property claims. 9. The winning logo will become the property of the Old Starehian Society. 10. The judge’s decision will be final. By participating, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this brief.
